A Free Public Conference (in English).
War is not the answer, by guest speaker Pierre Jasmin, vice president of Artistes pour la Paix
Pierre Jasmin is an accomplished pianist, who has performed with great success in the major capitals of the world. He is an ardent proponent of peaceful resolutions to conflicts in the Gandhian tradition. He is also an executive member of the Canadian Network for the Abolition of Nuclear Weapons and of Pugwash Canada. He has written hundreds of articles on the issue of peaceful resolutions, which can be found on http://artistespourlapaix.org/ He will be speaking on how to defeat ISIS without resorting to bomb-shelling air-raids that destroy civilian homes and cause the death of thousands of innocent civilians. Which in turn leads to the flight of million refugees, to recruitment of more jihadists and to the infernal cycle of revenge. Come and listen to a different, less aggressive point of view and bring your friends ! His talk will be followed by a discussion period.
Date: Tuesday, December 8, 2015.
Place: Concordia University, School of Community & Public Affairs, 2149 Mackay St (between Sherbrooke & De Maisonneuve Blvd.) metro Guy-Concordia
